A warm welcome to Lake Aniwhenua Lodge Motel.

Whether you require a quiet weekend away or an extended retreat, we provide a wonderful relaxed atmosphere for our guests. Wake up to nothing more than natural bird song in the morning.
Look out over the beautiful expanse of Lake Aniwhenua and watch the ducks, swans and bird life on the water. Watch the ripples appear as trout rise and break the surface. Witness some of the magnificent sun sets that reflect the brilliant,pink, orange and red hues across the lake. Amble around the gardens and across the wooden board walk.

Private access to the lake is a mere stroll through the back gate.

You have the choice of a private room with shared facilities or a fully self-contained cottage. We also provide power & non-power sites.
The Lodge tackle shop can supply anglers with fishing licenses, flies & lures, rod hire, wader hire, row boat hire and most importantly, the local knowledge to help make your fishing a success.

The “barbecue shack”, with barbecues, running water and tiled benches along with a fish smoker pad adjoins the main kitchen block.There is also dedicated fish cleaning facility on the property.

There is ample parking for trucks, buses, boats & trailers

Arrivals & Check-in is any time from 1pm onwards. Departure & check-out is by 10am.

We accept direct debit, eftpos, visa and mastercard for your convenience

Below are the directions to find Lake Aniwhenua Lodge. Numbers in circles are state highway numbers.

Travelling route instructions:

All roads are of excellent tar seal quality.

From Rotorua or Taupo;

Take State Highway 5
Turn onto State Highway 38 (sign says Murupara)
Travel towards Murupara
Just before Murupara township, turn left on Kopuriki Road
Travel length of this road to a T intersection
(Shop & fuel pumps available here)
Turn left
Travel 3 kilometres and Lake Aniwhenua Lodge is on your left.

From Whakatane;

Take State Highway 30
Just before Te Teko township turn left on Te Teko Road
(This is sign posted to Galatea & Murupara)
Travel across Matahina Dam
Turn left on Galatea Road
Travel through the Waiohou valley
Lake Aniwhenua Lodge is opposite the Welcome to Galatea sign.
