Helicopter transport is the only access available to the remotest locations of Te Urewera National Park for trout fishing and hunting.

Imagine being transported back in time to how our ancestors knew the land. No noise other than gurgling streams, untouched native bush and bird song so sweet it's unbelievable. Here you can easily believe no man has set foot before. A fly fishing or hunting safari of the best New Zealand has to offer.

Trout basking in lies and going about their daily survival. Breaking the surface to snatch an unsuspecting insect, nosing around rocks and pebbles to engulf any food that moves. Waters so crystal clean and air that's so fresh, it's an anglers heaven on earth.

 

For obvious reasons we prefer all trout to be released.Helicopter hunting and fishing, Te Urewera National Park

Wild deer and pigs roaming the forest at will. Browsing on lush foliage. Ground hunting this terrain requires a high level of fitness.

Costs
Guiding fee includes GST (tax)..

  • Helicopter Transport
    • NZ$800 - NZ$1400 depending on location
  • Guiding
    • NZ$600 for one or two anglers/hunters per day
    • NZ$100 per extra angler

Payment

  • A 25% deposit is required for confirmation
  • Refundable (less booking fee) if cancelled 60 days prior to booked date
  • 50% refunadable if cancelled 30 days prior to booked date
  • We accept visa, mastercard & Eft Pos

What you need to bring

  • Subdued coloured clothing to last duration of trip
  • Two pair of footwear
  • Sun block
  • Insect repellent
  • Hat
  • Polaroid glasses if fishing
  • Wet weather gear
  • Anything else can be hired from the lodge tackle shop
